World - A Global Village

Each day I see many faces. Some are familiar to me and some are not. When I begin to follow someone’s activity for a certain amount of time, what I get to know is what they really want to do, not what they are actually doing. I find myself standing in a busy street. I am holding a book in which I write about the things happening around me, as I see them. Each and every person I see keeps circling around the same streets, with their fingers swiftly swiping their phones, which makes me laugh. I hardly find people holding the hands of their loved ones in the streets. I hardly find parents playing with children. I rarely find people like me roaming around the streets with a book in their hand, in which they scribble their tears. Everyone is running for something, but they don’t know what they are running for. This situation of the world worries me. The technology has created a virtual world. When one connects to it, he disconnects himself from nature, real love. They forget to relish ...

The Idea Generator

So I was reading “The Magic of Thinking Big” and I came across a very interesting passage. The entire book revolves around the concept of developing our thinking and changing the way we view things. After this person had answered a particularly odd question related to some mountains in Argentina, the author’s friend asked him how much did he think the friend would pay that participant to work for him. The answer was not a cent above $300 for life. This president friend of the auth...

Hard Work beats Talent, when Talent doesn't Work Hard

Start Unknown. Finish Unforgettable. The hardest worker in the room is always going to be the most talented person. In the end, maybe not at every step, but in the end hard work always wins. Talent is like good education. It won’t get you anything in this world unless you work hard to apply it in life and to go after your goals. The world is full of smart people. But all smart people have not achieved something of significance. This world is full of talented individuals, who don’t work on themselves. (Just like India has abundant of engineers, but hardly a handful are employable. Mark that, I didn’t say employed, but employable). And at the same time we see high school drop outs ruling the world in various sectors and industries. Talent is nothing if you don’t have the courage, if you don’t have the guts to work and make your dream possible. The one who is hungrier to get at the top will always get there before the talented person. Maybe not immediately, but hard work definitely ...
